Very nice hotel. I just wish they had a restaurant on the premises. Local fare is all very close but the convenience of room service is very nice. They did have a very nice Continental breakfast however that was included in the price of our room. The free breakfast may not necessarily come with every room booking however so be sure to check first.
The Hampton in Orange Beach is very nice. It exceeded my expectations. The room was suite which was spacious and decorated beautifully. We stayed at Best Western in a regular room two days before in Gulf Shores, 10 miles away, for the same price but you get so much more. Breakfast, better security, and better accommodations. Plus free cookies.
Had to change fall break plans with my family and chose this property. Despite a few minor challenges, we had a wonderful time. Foremost, the staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone we engaged was willing and capable of fullfilling our every request. The pool was perfect for our five year old. We stayed on the west side next to an ongoing construction project next door and weren't bothered at all. The only negative I can think of was that Beach Services charges $30 per day for the beach chairs shown on the website. Please don't think those are for hotel guest. No worries, the sand is soft and white and fine for setting on.
Location is great! The rooms, though a bit small, were clean. The beds were soft, but comfortable. The staff was awesome! We wish the pool and spa hours were longer. Adults like to relax by the pool kid-free, so shutting down the pool and spa takes that option away. However, that seems to be the norm at hotels vs. resorts.
Normally in the hotel/motels we stay with, the hot water is pretty much instantly available. It took a good 3-4 minutes to get warm or hot water to the lavatory faucet and the shower took about a minute. Additionally, the shower head had some mold on it as did the shower door. Our room was damp when we got there, but we thought the air conditioner would take a lot of that out. Nope, it was just as damp when we left this morning. On a bright side, the housekeeping folks were outstanding - friendly, accommodating and seemed happy to be at work. The front desk staff were the same. So that makes most other things insignificant to a large degree. Likely we'll stay somewhere else next time, because we do like room service, but this place is nice and had a good cost to comfort ratio.
