Money aside, the I really don't care attitude will keep me away. Nothing in their ads warn you of this. Be aware.

me to a swanky room with a patio. The views are beautiful from every room. The buffet breakfast is standard DoubleTree fare--above average for hotel breakfast, but the hotel is also located near some great restaurants, so I'd give those a shot too.
This is probably the cleanest Hotel I've ever stayed in....in my life. The employees are super friendly. Ocean views from every room. Love this place. You do have a refrigerator in every room but you do not have a microwave. Full ocean views from balconies if you stay on higher floors.
Very nice property with helpful staff,until you needed a manager! Be aware that you have a beautiful beach with pure white sand. If you get settled on one of the lounge chairs on the beach, you will be approached to rent it for $30/day! When I went to the desk and got a manager I was told the following :
The Island House Hotel is a lovely beach front property with lovely views of the Gulf of Mexico. The hotel has clean beautiful bathrooms, large TVs, and high beds so you can see the view without obstruction from the balcony rails. The staff is friendly and there is a Starbucks onsite which is very convenient. My only negative about my stay is the firmness of the mattresses which the front desk personnel says is a Doubletree standard. The mattresses are too firm for me and my mother's liking, they left us with minor aches and pains but otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

We take an annual trip to Orange Beach, and love staying at the Island House Hotel. Last year we weren't able to stay there as it was undergoing some renovations, and we couldn't wait to see the changes we'd find this year. We weren't disappointed. The rooms are refreshed, the whole hotel has been taken up a notch, and the staff is as friendly as ever. If you go, I encourage you to book the stay that includes the free breakfast. They serve it until 11:00 am, and have a great selection in the buffet. The entire experience, including the pool (which has it's own special area fully stocked with clean, heavy "pool towels") the beach area and the overall stay was truly enjoyable. If you're thinking of heading to Orange Beach, please consider booking your stay at the Island House Hotel. You won't be disappointed!

Housekeeping woke us up every morning by talking loudly and laughing outside our door. Even with us hanging the do not disturb sign out. It would start at 750am and continue for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
All in all, I've stayed at a few hotels in the area, and you can't beat the value here.

Most people bring their own. Hard to do when you are traveling by jet !
